Character

Expressive and beautifully defined, with ripe blackcurrant and dark berries joined by delicate notes of violet and spice. A subtle mineral freshness runs through the aromatic profile, bringing clarity and elegance to the richness of the fruit. On the palate the wine is Precise and beautifully balanced, with concentrated dark fruit carried by ripe, rounded tannins. The structure is unmistakably Pauillac, yet there is a remarkable softness and harmony to the wine. Freshness brings energy and definition, leading into a long, pure finish that reveals both the depth of the vintage and its exceptional ageing potential.

Goes well with

Grand-Puy-Lacoste's combination of structure, freshness and elegant tannins makes it a natural partner for classic French cooking. Pair with roasted rack of lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison or slow-braised beef. Its savoury depth also works beautifully with wild mushrooms and mature cheeses.
