Saint Emilion: Château Troplong Mondot 2019

Château Troplong Mondot occupies a remarkable position on the hills overlooking Saint-Émilion. One of the appellation's celebrated Premier Grand Cru Classé estates, it has built its reputation on wines of depth, structure and exceptional character. The 2019 vintage brings together the generosity of Merlot with the precision of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, creating a wine that is powerful yet beautifully composed.

Character

Rich and expressive, with ripe blackberry and dark fruit at its core, complemented by delicate floral notes. Hints of anise and warm spice add complexity, creating an aromatic profile that is generous yet remarkably defined. On the palate the wine is Lush and beautifully structured, with layers of juicy dark fruit carried by ripe, finely integrated tannins. Fresh acidity brings energy and precision to the wine's natural richness, while its layered texture reveals both depth and elegance. The finish is long and balanced, with impressive persistence.

Goes well with

Troplong Mondot's combination of concentration, freshness and structure makes it a natural partner for richly flavoured dishes. Pair with roasted rack of lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, braised short ribs or venison. Its depth also works beautifully with earthy mushroom dishes and slow-cooked meats.
